Job summary

Outreach Development Corp. in New York is seeking a Part-time Substance Abuse Counselor (bilingual English/Spanish) to deliver direct counseling services in a treatment setting and to engage women in need of treatment. The role includes recruitment and collaboration with outside agencies to increase referrals.

You will conduct assessments, manage caseloads, and coordinate admissions, with flexible evenings on Tue/Wed/Fri, totaling about 19 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• CASAC, CASAC-T, CRC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LCSW or higher preferred.
• Experience working in 822 clinics, as well as community outreach preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments, intakes and participates in level of care determinations by gathering appropriate data.
• Completes necessary administrative procedures for admission to treatment and, as appropriate, assists in development of treatment plan.
• Facilitates admission/referral to other programs or agencies for clients in need of services not offered at Unit.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services in a professional, ethical and competent manner.
• Manages all aspects of assigned caseload during treatment, with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.
• Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences.
• Complete all needed documentation and reports in a timely manner. Informs Program leadership of any problems or anticipated inability to meet deadlines.

Position: Substance Abuse Counselor

The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the delivery of direct services in a substance abuse treatment setting as well as representing Outreach to outside agencies in a professional manner in order to increase referrals. This role is dually responsible for recruitment and engagement of women in need of treatment, maintaining communication with outside referral sources and direct services, and assessed for treatment in the community.

• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services in a professional, ethical and competent manner.

Position Status

This is a part-time position.

Tuesday: 3pm - 9pm
Wednesday: 1pm - 9pm
Friday: 3pm - 9pm
