Title: Substance Abuse Counselor
Program(s) and Location: Co-Occurring Treatment Program (Sacramento, CA)
Schedule: Full-time non-exempt, 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and may require working some evenings and weekend schedules
Pay rate:$24.49/hr for RADT and $25.21/hr for CADC

Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the individual designated on the agency Organizational Chart, the Co-Occuring Disorder Substance Abuse Counselorworks to provide and coordinate services and resources for clients. The Co-Occuring Disorder Substance Abuse Counselor will provide direct services (individual and group) including substance abuse assessments, individual and group counseling, and education with and under the direct supervision of the Program Manager. This position will work closely with other program staff and community substance abuse resources. Furthermore, this position is to provide referrals, crisis intervention, support, and encouragement to enable the client to access and use mental health and other services that prevent hospitalization and incarceration and increase mental health stability. This position may provide the clients the care and attention needed to enable them to learn better coping skills, independent living skills, and techniques to empower the client with recovery, a sense of responsibility, and independence.
