Job summary

Resolution Health and Wellness Center in Halethorpe, MD seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to provide intake assessments, individual and group counseling, and ongoing treatment planning. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 9:00 a.m.

• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions as needed.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, recovery, and relapse prevention groups.
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, nurses, and other professionals to coordinate client care.
• Educate clients and families about addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and community resources.
• Complete timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and ensure compliance with regulations.

About the Role

Resolution Health and Wellness Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our growing behavioral health team in Halethorpe, Maryland. Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday through Friday
• 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• No weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' treatment needs.
• Provide individual, and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions as needed.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, recovery, and relapse prevention groups.
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care.
• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and available community resources.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other required records in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Ensure compliance with COMAR regulations, Maryland behavioral health standards, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and continuing education activities.

Qualifications

Preferred Licensure/Certification

• Other equivalent Maryland behavioral health licensure or certification

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in an outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), residential, or behavioral health setting.
