Job summary

Behavioral Health Group - BHG is seeking a compassionate Counselor to support patients on their recovery journey. You will conduct counseling sessions, develop treatment plans, and foster connections with patients in a patient-centered care framework.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 5:00 AM–1:00 PM schedule with a rotating Saturday shift, a $28/hour base pay plus a bonus structure, and comprehensive benefits.

  • Bachelor's or Master's in human services or related field.
  • CSAC-S, CSAC, Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP required.

  • Welcome new and returning patients during intake and orientation.
  • Develop, update, and implement individualized treatment plans.

$28/hour + Bonus Structure

Requirements

What You’ll Do
Provide Care
  • Build trusting relationships by providing individual and group counseling for people recovering from drug use and alcohol disorders.
  • Welcome new and returning patients by guiding them through the intake and orientation process.
  • Connect patients with community resources and help them access the support they need.
  • Follow up on referrals and perform necessary follow-ups.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
Manage Documentation
  • Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records
  • Collect and assess information about each patient's social, educational, economic, and vocational needs to provide care.
  • Respond to crisis situations with compassion while completing required documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Meet state-level requirements.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree (or higher).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in behavioral health.
  • Ability to make decisions and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to deal appropriately with patients and team members in stressful or other undesirable situations and to seek direction from supervisors when necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior to show potential for rehabilitating drug dependent patients.
  • Knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning, and the field of human social services to work toward the rehabilitation of the patient community.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced clinical environment with period of increased activity.
  • Exposure to patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and criminal justice involvement.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Alternating between sitting and standing throughout the workday.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Frequent keyboarding and computer use.
