Job summary

SLB in Mobile, AL seeks a Quality Inspector to ensure subsea umbilical manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products meet API 17E, ISO 13628-5, and customer requirements. You will verify components, inspect assemblies, perform dimensional checks, and document results to support traceability and compliance.

Maintain ISO 9001, API Q1, and client QA/QC requirements; audit binders, complete NCRs, and serve as a liaison during client and third-party inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with 3–5 years in subsea manufacturing/oil & gas.
• Experience inspecting umbilical components, assemblies, and welding processes.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, API Q1, and QA/QC documentation requirements.
• Preferred AWS CWI certification and NDT inspection familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Verify components are released, stored properly, and fit for purpose per plans.
• Inspect assembly, tolerances, and sequencing; document results.
• Perform dimensional checks and visual inspections for defects.
• Maintain project traceability and conduct in-process welding checks.
• Verify weld parameters, welder qualifications, and consumables control.
• Audit documentation, compile inspection reports, NCRs, and deviations.
• Ensure compliance with API 17E, ISO 9001, API Q1, and client QA/QC requirements.
• Act as a point of contact during client and third-party inspections.
