Job summary

Valaris in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Subsea Engineer trainee to support the Subsea Department in offshore operations, equipment inspection, maintenance, and daily checks. This entry level role collaborates with the team to ensure safe, efficient activity offshore.

You will participate in pre-tour, post-tour, and weekly safety meetings, complete mandatory training, and learn our behavioral framework while gaining hands-on experience under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of two years offshore experience.
• Fluent English communication skill both written and oral.
• Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for Assistant Subsea Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety for self and crew.
• Attend pre-tour, post-tour, and weekly safety meetings.
• Perform work to agreed expectations, striving for first-time quality.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair subsea equipment.
• Complete Subsea department daily checks using the checklist.
• Participate in weekly STOP tour with Subsea personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
• Keep written handover notes for efficient information transfer.
• Report defects to the immediate supervisor.
