Job Description

Are you an experienced attorney with a passion for negotiation, litigation, and making a tangible impact? Allstate is seeking a dynamic Subrogation Senior Attorney to join our legal team. You will represent insured clients and the company in auto and property subrogation cases, defend bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, and develop innovative legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate.
  2. Negotiate and resolve auto and property subrogation cases with third-party carriers.
  3. Review new files, approve pleadings, propound discovery, and develop legal strategies.
  4. Maintain regular contact with clients, discussing cases and answering questions at least every 90 days.
  5. Coordinate with claims teams on litigation plans and updates.
  6. Review documentary evidence thoroughly.
  7. Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
  8. Conduct depositions and prepare summaries.
  9. Manage court appearances, including hearings and settlement conferences.
  10. Try and arbitrate cases, including motions and post-trial motions.
  11. Manage legal projects, ensuring effective coordination among teams.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
  1. Juris Doctorate and active membership in the California State Bar.
  2. Litigation experience in-house or in law firms.
  3. Experience in subrogation, collections, insurance defense, or personal injury litigation preferred.
  4. Proven trial or arbitration experience preferred.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, and internet research.
  6. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  7. Willingness and ability to travel throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
