Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a Technical Mission Lead to manage sub-orbital launch missions on sounding rockets, overseeing integration and the full lifecycle from design to launch.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 8 years of mission planning/management experience, with the ability to coordinate across teams, ensure safety, and provide regular status reports to Prime leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
• 8 years of experience in mission planning/management/execution for sub-orbital launch vehicles.
• Must be a US citizen and eligible for security clearance.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to access military facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with experiment teams, integrators, and launch vehicle providers to ensure requirements are met throughout the mission lifecycle.
• Oversee the complete design, development, integration, testing, and launch phases of suborbital hypersonic missions.
• Maintain communication with Prime Contractor leads to meet schedules and systems engineering needs.
• Ensure missions comply with applicable safety requirements and standards.
• Create statements of work and task orders for Launch Vehicle Providers.
• Maintain schedule adherence with subcontractors via trackers and lists.
• Report mission status to customer and leadership on a recurring basis.
