Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2 years related technical experience.
• On-the-job welding experience or formal welding training or EB welding qualifications.
• Ability to read and interpret welding/shipyard procedures, structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams.
• Available to work all shifts; able to work at heights, confined spaces, and extreme temperatures.
• Must possess own basic hand tools and participate in lifting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication & welding alongside all tasks in the steel trade.
• Fabricate frames/cylinders to produce the pressure hulls using hydraulic fixtures.
• Follow work packages, fixture setup sheets, drawings, ERs and SSPs to ensure quality.
• Read welding symbols and fabrication drawings for accurate work.
• Prepare steel surfaces per drawings for welding of frames and cylinders.
• Pass required tests (GMAPLS, GMASPS, GMASPM) after training.
