Job summary

Qualifications

• US citizenship required
• Enrolled full-time at a college or university
• Available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of eight consecutive weeks May 2027–September 2027
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Acoustic Engineering

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations on fluid systems, structures, and components
• Collaborate with NAVY representatives to implement new designs or resolve issues
• Work with the Design workforce and Construction Trades to develop new system concepts
• Evaluate new concepts and provide engineering recommendations
• Assess material conditions or design issues on submarines under construction or in operation
