Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry-level Electrical/Computer Engineer focused on development, testing and support of embedded control systems for naval propulsion programs.

You will build on your engineering knowledge, work with the Navy to diagnose issues, and grow in Systems Engineering and troubleshooting within a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

Job Description

Are you an entry-level Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineer with a strong interest in development, testing and support of embedded control systems? The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a mission-driven organization that develops propulsion plant control systems for the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program. Submarine Power Plant Electrical Systems Engineers are at the center of NNL's mission providing direct support for U.S. Navy submarine classes. In this position you will:

• Build on your Electrical/Computer engineering knowledge and develop strong Systems Engineering and troubleshooting skills
• Develop a deep understanding of the design and development of naval nuclear power plants and the functions of instrumentation and control systems to provide safe and reliable operation
• Interact directly with the U.S. Navy's nuclear fleet to assess problems and provide emergent support

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
