Job summary

Electric Boat's Overhaul and Repair Engineering (O&RE) is seeking engineers to support maintenance, repair, and modernization of submarines at Groton and sister sites. You will develop clear procedures, interpret shipbuilding specs, and guide shipyard execution to ensure readiness for sea.

The role requires 0–5 years of engineering experience, a BS in Engineering, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Travel to off-site Navy facilities may be required, with potential first or second shift

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Engineering is required.
• 0–5 years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Willingness to travel and support extended off-site assignments.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, access confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Plan submarine maintenance, repair, and modernization through procedures in technical work documents.
• Provide in-person proactive support to shipyard execution onboard submarines.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting to resolve execution roadblocks.
• Collaborate with O&RE system engineers and interfacing departments for compliance.
• Evaluate technical rationale to approve non-conforming conditions.
• Support test and certification of systems affected by the documents.
• Assist with off-site projects at Electric Boat and Navy facilities.
• Develop understanding of submarine systems identified in the documents.
