Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Test Engineer for Non Nuclear Test—D441, handling CWS & NPES on the 3rd shift. Responsibilities include qualifying as Shift Test Director, safety briefings, data evaluation, and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Secret security clearance ability required.
• Two years of experience with shipboard construction, testing, and/or operation/familiarity with combat and weapons systems.

Responsibilities

• Qualifying as and executing all duties of a Shift Test Director IAW NAVSEA 0905-485-6010
• Conducting thorough job hazard analysis briefs to assure personnel and equipment safety
• Ensuring proper safety and re-entry control procedures are in place and strictly adhered to
• Certifying all prerequisites are fully met prior to commencing tests
• Evaluating recorded data for conformance to test procedure requirements and specifications
• Performing post-testing procedure reviews for completeness and accuracy
• Conducting effective shift turnover to maximize cross-shift work continuity and efficiency
• Documenting, publishing, and troubleshooting test hold ups and non-conformances
• Interaction with trade personnel, ships management, engineering, and government personnel
