Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Proficient in installing, overhauling, and repairing US Naval submarine and ship machinery, mechanical systems, and components such as pumps, valves, launchers, and actuators. Assists project teams with structural and piping component installation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform installation, repair, and overhaul of machinery, mechanical systems, and components.
  2. Conduct system or component inspections as directed by the Project Manager.
  3. Assist welders and pipefitters with structural and piping installation.
  4. Follow Technical Work Documents and drawings during installation, repair, and overhaul tasks.
  5. Document inspections and work performed in Technical Work Documents and Objective Quality Evidence Forms.
  6. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for maintenance tasks.
  7. Work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Adhere to safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical/equipment installation, repair, and overhaul on US Naval vessels, or formal related training through a college, military, or apprenticeship program.
  2. Preferred experience with SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, and LEVEL I systems and components.
  3. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  4. Experience in shipyards and ship repair environments.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  6. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb, balance, and lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
  7. High School Diploma or GED required.
  8. US Citizenship, ability to pass background and drug screening, and hold a SECRET security clearance.
