Amentum is seeking a Submarine Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician for their Portsmouth, VA team. Amentum is seeking an Submarine Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician to join our Portsmouth, VA team to support an anticipated opening. This role focuses on the submarine aspect of the AN/BLQ-10 system, involving tasks like installation, testing, and repair of the system.
Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of tasks including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic and mechanical equipment and systems, in accordance with engineering specifications.
Install, monitor, and service SWFTS Tech-Insertion & APB cycle of AN/BLQ-10 ESM systems at various Naval locations.
Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, and certification tasks. Perform validations and verifications of various electronic systems.
Review change proposals for equipment impacts and assist in implementing Engineering Change Instructions.
Develop technical and engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory.
Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance, and systems, ensuring compliance with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.
Must have an active Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required to maintain this clearance.
Ability to travel 35-40% of the time annually.
Qualifications include five (5) years of practical experience with a High School diploma/GED, or three (3) years of practical experience with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or formal electronics training from Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four-year electronics apprentice program.
Practical experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment is required.
Experience in maintenance, repair, and/or installation disciplines, and in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings is preferred.
Knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems is a plus.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.87+ (Minimum Hourly rate set by SCA)
