Job summary

Redwire Space Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator, Staff to join our team. The role supports both Federal and commercial programs and is primarily remote, with onsite activities at our Goleta, CA facility.

Responsibilities include coordinating, negotiating, and managing complex subcontracts, in-depth FAR/DFARS knowledge, ITAR/EAR familiarity, and cross-functional collaboration across program teams. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field with 7+ years in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Experience supporting U.S. Government and/or commercial programs.
• Experience managing diverse subcontractors, large and small.

Responsibilities

• Build, review, and approve compliant file documentation.
• Represent company as interface between program management and subcontractors; may require travel to supplier locations.
• Strong working knowledge of government contracts/subcontracts; FAR/DFARS; ITAR/EAR experience a plus.
• Prepare proposal and other business documents for execution; price analysis and narrative documentation.
• Review and verify accuracy of proposal packages; coordinate with internal team.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, deliverables and invoicing.

Summary

Redwire Space Enterprises, Inc. isseeking a Subcontracts Administrator, Staff to join our team! The individual must be able to work in a fast paced, challenging environment with multiple contract types supporting both Federal and commercial programs. While the position is primarily remote, the ideal candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance to our facility in Goleta, CA. You’ll be expected to work onsite for key activities such as milestone reviews, integration and test events, and occasional customer meetings.

They will become a member of the multi‑disciplinary team to perform the coordination, negotiation and management of highly complex proposals and subcontracts under minimal supervision. Position requires knowledge of business agreements, Federal and commercial contracting methods, including policies, procedures and regulations in order to provide appropriate guidance and support. Where no process or policy exists, experience in drafting such guidance is highly desired. Prepares/reviews proposals, develops evaluation criteria, negotiates subcontract provisions, down‑selects or recommends subcontractors, writes subcontract packages for review, prepares, awards and administers resulting subcontracts. Negotiates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Ability to work independently, as well as manage cross‑functional program teams on all subcontract related issues; multi‑tasking is crucial for success. Must be able to assess, prioritize, drive issues to closure and be assertive when required. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties. Exhibit best practice work habits and collaborate with other subcontract team members to promote operational excellence. Deliver quality customer service to both internal and external customers and foster and maintain good supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build, Review, and approve compliant file documentation
• Represent company as the official interface between program management and subcontractors; may require travel to supplier locations
• Strong working knowledge and experience administering government contracts/subcontracts. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS); Export Control Requirements (ITAR/EAR) experience a plus
• Prepare proposal and other business documents for execution. Examples include Request for Proposal, price analysis,and written narrative documents related to subcontractor’s requirements and/or performance
• Review and verify accuracy and completeness of proposal packages
• Coordinate subcontractor proposals with internal team
• Review subcontractor proposals and fact-find and negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, terms and conditions and any other contractual requirements
• Prepare subcontract documents and amendments, including identification and inclusion of cascaded requirements from the prime contract ensuring terms and conditions will be appropriate
• Prepare reports and contractual correspondence for project management
• Monitoring subcontractor’s performance, managing deliverables and payment of invoices
• Coordinating and providing advice and interpretation of contract/subcontract requirements
• In concert with the Program/Technical team perform price analysis to ensure reasonableness of pricing in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies
• Perform subcontract closeout actions, complete file documentation, and transfer files accordingly
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate and/or required
• Limited travel may be required less than 10%

Ideal Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or a related field, and 7+ years’ work experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry; or 10 years related experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience supporting a wide range of U.S. Government and/or commercial programs
• Experience managing diverse subcontractors, both large and small businesses

Desired Skills

• Experience working in ERP systems; Costpoint strongly preferred
• Knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulatory requirements
• Experience supporting CPSR‑compliant environments
• Understanding of audits, SOX compliance, and internal controls
• Aerospace or space‑systems industry experience, particularly with flight hardware suppliers
• Supplier risk‑management experience
• Process‑improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
• Professional supply chain or contracts certifications (CPSM, CFCM, NCMA credentials)

Pay Range $120,000 - $170,000/yr.

We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
