Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction in Boston seeks a Subcontractor Risk & SDI Manager to lead the SDI program, prequalify subcontractors, and review financial statements to assess solvency. You will partner with regional risk leaders to manage risk and support project teams.

You will educate operations on the SDI program, coordinate with brokers and carriers, and ensure timely decisions while evolving the prequalification process across Shawmut’s portfolio.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in financial statement analysis, credit or subcontractor prequalification, construction risk, insurance, surety, or related fields.
• Experience analyzing liquidity, leverage, profitability, working capital and trends.
• Strong collaboration with risk leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the SDI program, including project and subcontractor oversight.
• Review subcontractor financial statements and coordinate with broker and insurer.
• Serve as primary SDI contact and educate operations teams about the program.
• Perform prequalification analyses and escalate decisions per authority matrix.
• Develop risk mitigation plans for exceptions and conditions.
• Support day-to-day risk management needs across locations.
