Job summary

Hanwha Ocean EPU is seeking a Subcontract Manager to oversee subcontracting activities for offshore and onshore plant projects, ensuring cost, schedule, quality, and contractual compliance.

This role leads subcontract strategy, supplier pre-qualification, RFQ/RFP processes, negotiations, and contract administration, while coordinating with engineering, quality, construction, finance, and project controls to align delivery with objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, subcontract management, or contract administration.
• Experience in EPC, offshore, onshore plant, or industrial project environments preferred.
• Knowledge of subcontracting processes, contract administration, and commercial terms.
• Experience in RFQ/RFP processes, bid evaluation, and subcontract execution support.
• Understanding of subcontract scope, deliverables, and coordination with engineering and project teams.
• Experience in matrix organizations and project-based environments preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication with internal stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Fluent English communication preferred; additional language capability is an advantage.

Position Overview

The Subcontract Manager is responsible for managing subcontracting activities to ensure successful project execution in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and contractual compliance.

This role oversees subcontract strategy, vendor selection, contract administration, and performance management, ensuring alignment with project and business objectives across offshore and onshore plant projects.

The role supports reliable and cost-effective project delivery by integrating procurement strategy, supplier performance, subcontract management, contract administration, logistics planning, and material availability with project priorities. It is expected to maintain close coordination with engineering, quality, construction, finance, and project controls to ensure that supply chain activities support schedule commitments, technical compliance, and commercial objectives.

At this level, the role manages defined scopes, teams, or operational processes with accountability for execution performance, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment. The position is expected to balance delivery requirements, governance expectations, and people coordination while maintaining reliable communication, reporting, and follow-through.

Key Responsibility

• Lead RFQ/RFP processes for subcontract packages, including technical and commercial evaluations.
• Lead subcontract negotiations and finalize contractual agreements with subcontractors.
• Administer subcontract agreements, including change orders, claims, and variations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and HSSE compliance.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of subcontracting activities.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to subcontracting scope, execution, and contract performance.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives in subcontract management.
