Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) is designing and building an API manufacturing facility in Generation Park, Houston, TX. The role supports subcontract formation and administration, including bid packages, contract procedures, and ongoing compliance with project requirements.

You will assist with subcontract formation, manage bids, monitor performance, and coordinate meetings with Bechtel, the customer, and contractors on a fast-paced EPC environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of relevant experience (or 9–12 years).
• Knowledge of subcontract formation and administration practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to read contracts.

Responsabilités

• Implement the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and standard procedures for Subcontract Management.
• Gathers data for document preparation and subcontract management.
• Support Subcontract Manager in tasks per the contract/subcontract guidebook.
• Monitor subcontract performance and progress; conduct investigations as assigned.
• Prepare meetings, status reports, and training materials.

Project Overview

Bechtel\u2019s Manufacturing & Technology (M\&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary

In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.

Major Responsibilities

Subcontract Management

• Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project\’s agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management


• Gathers and compiles support data for the preparation of documents and the management of subcontracts


• Assists Subcontract Manager or more senior Subcontract Professionals in completion of the various tasks required by the Contract/Subcontract Management Guidebook, Standard Work Process Procedures, and automated subcontract management systems


• Monitors areas of subcontract performance, as assigned


• Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific subcontracts problems, as assigned


• Organizes materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations, and training sessions, and prepares periodic status reports


• Works with Digital Supply Chain and other Automation Tools

Subcontract Formation

• Duties and responsibilities involve the formation and award of small value, routine-type subcontracts


• Assists with negotiations in commitment of contracts, but directs negotiation in small value contracts


• Develops and issues subcontracts and services agreements as assigned


• Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially


• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations


• Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures


• Prepares subcontract documents for execution


• Prepares and maintains control and status reporting documents


• Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

• Basic knowledge of subcontract formation and administration practices.


• Ability to read and understand contractual language.


• Strong communication and organizational skills.


• Demonstrated ownership of challenges and ability to drive issues to resolution.


• Demonstrated interest in developing commercial and negotiation skills.


• Ability to work full time on a construction site in a fast-paced EPC environment.
