Job summary

Wegmans in New York (Town of Clay area) is seeking a Perishable Department Coordinator to ensure fresh products are stocked and prepared for service counters and pre-made items. You will maintain department appearance, manage inventory and ordering, and deliver friendly customer service while suggesting meal solutions and answering questions about products.

This is a fast-paced role in a customer-focused grocery environment.

• Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink.
• Proactively help customers, delivering efficient and friendly customer service, while providing suggestions for meal solutions, and answering any questions they may have about products

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast‑paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 15 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds rarely. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures near hot equipment (exceeds 135).
