Job summary

Wegmans in New York is looking for team members to join the sub shop crew. You will create fresh sub sandwiches and other products, serving customers with speed and care while building rapport to encourage return visits.

As part of a fast-paced food service environment, you will focus on accurate order taking, on-time preparation, and keeping the department stocked and neat throughout the day. No prior experience required beyond a positive attitude and reliability.

Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting; Food preparation experience; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-15 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds rarely. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33-55 degrees) temperatures near hot equipment (exceeds 135). Basic tools and equipment used include oven, slicer, proofer, and common kitchen utensils and equipment.
