Position Overview

We are seeking a Salon Assistant to join our team in Newtown, CT. This role is ideal for individuals aiming to build a career as a Hair Stylist. If you are motivated, positive, and seeking growth opportunities in a modern salon, Whip Salon could be the perfect place for you.

Qualifications

• Currently hold a cosmetology license or be enrolled in cosmetology school for at least 6 months before working with us.

Responsibilities

• Support stylists by welcoming clients, hanging coats, and providing beverages.
• Perform cleaning duties: sweeping, wiping surfaces, cleaning shelves, windows, mirrors, and dishes.
• Maintain high customer service standards to ensure a consistent, high-end experience.
• Keep workstations and tools tidy and sanitized.
• Handle laundry: wash, fold, and store linens.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Potential to perform shampoos and scalp massages as role expands.

Compensation and Benefits

• W2 position paying $16-$18/hour based on skills and experience.
• Weekly pay via direct deposit.
• After 3 months, qualify for the Whip Salon 401(k) plan.
