Job Duties

Promotion to Stylist

The stylist-in-training may be eligible for a promotion to the stylist position once they receive their license. To be considered, the candidate must:

  1. Possess a valid license in their applicable state
  2. Be able to perform duties permitted by their license, including cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, washing, and perming
  3. Demonstrate Regis values of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited cosmetology school and obtain necessary licensing within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to work in a dynamic salon environment
  • Good time management, judgment, and multi-tasking skills
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Computer knowledge including POS systems and data entry
  • Flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Essential Functions
Market and Grow the Business
  • Promote and sell services and products, including recommending additional services and retail items
  • Convey clear pricing information
  • Coordinate promotional displays using ShopTalk
  • Handle sales to walk-in retail customers
Provide Customer Service
  • Greet customers professionally, understand their needs, and escort them through the salon
  • Estimate wait times and answer phones promptly
  • Handle complaints and refer issues to management
Manage Expenses
  • Follow salon schedules
  • Charge accurately for services and products, applying discounts as per policy
  • Safeguard assets by adhering to policies
Administrative Tasks and Compliance
  • Perform tasks like answering phones, stocking, sweeping, and other duties as assigned
  • Communicate professionally with all stakeholders
  • Maintain safety standards
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training
  • Handle POS transactions
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs., occasional 10-25 lbs.
  • Continuous standing and reaching
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, climbing
  • Exposure to chemicals and fragrances
  • Communication with customers
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
