Stylist in Training Job Description

The Stylist in Training position is a temporary role that provides an opportunity to explore salon operations, including but not limited to Brand Standards. The SIT will play a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction. By the end of the program, the SIT should have comprehensive knowledge of the location, menu/pricing, products, and hours of operation, and be able to communicate this information effectively to guests both in person and over the phone. If the SIT obtains their license and demonstrates proficiency, they will be invited to interview for a permanent stylist position.

Essential Functions -

• Prepare for promotion to Stylist.
• Answer the phone with a friendly greeting.
• Communicate information clearly and courteously.
• Greet guests cheerfully and explain salon services.
• Estimate wait times and advise guests accordingly.
• Promote salon services and retail products.
• Achieve retail sales goals through guest interactions.
• Recommend additional services and products.
• Operate the POS system, process payments, and provide receipts.
• Address guest complaints attentively and refer issues to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, front desk, windows, product shelves, and floors.
• Assist with salon duties as needed.
• Label and stock retail products.
• Work independently and shadow experienced Stylists to learn services.
• Watch training videos and perform supervised services on models where permitted.
• Participate in salon meetings.
