Job Duties

• Market and grow the business
• Observe other stylists/managers at work and ask relevant questions
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Control expenses
• Promote and sell services and retail products
• Answer telephones, stock and dust shelves, and sweep hair
• Complete all other duties as assigned by manager

The stylist-in-training at Regis is a temporary 90-day position designed to integrate an unlicensed, future stylist into the salon workplace and help them learn the business. It is their responsibility to deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with management, customers, and co-workers. To advance to a stylist position, the trainee must obtain their license and demonstrate proficiency in required services, as well as embody Regis values of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited cosmetology school and obtain necessary licenses within or before 90 days of hire
• Ability to work in a dynamic salon environment
• Good time management, judgment, and multi-tasking skills
• Interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and management

Essential Functions

Market and Grow the Business

• Promote and sell services and products, including recommending additional services and retail items
• Convey clear pricing information
• Coordinate promotional displays as directed
• Handle sales to walk-in retail customers

Provide Exceptional Customer Service

• Greet customers professionally, understand their needs, and escort them through the salon
• Estimate wait times and answer calls promptly
• Handle complaints and refer issues to management

Manage and Control Expenses

• Follow salon schedules and charge accurately for services and products
• Safeguard assets by adhering to policies

Complete Administrative Tasks and Ensure Compliance

• Assist with salon operations, answer phones, stock shelves, and perform other duties
• Communicate professionally with staff and customers
• Maintain safety standards
• Attend mandatory meetings and training
• Handle POS transactions

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting 10-25 lbs
• Continuous standing and reaching

• Exposure to chemicals and fragrances
• Ability to communicate with customers and read/write basic forms
