Job summary

Norwell Community Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant / Study Hall Monitor to supervise students during study hall, ensuring a safe and productive environment. You will assist with attendance, behavior, and basic academic questions while upholding school policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or educational experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively supervise and manage groups of students.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during assigned study hall periods.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
• Take and maintain accurate attendance records.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules and procedures.
• Ensure students remain on task and engaged in academic work.
• Assist students with basic questions regarding assignments and resources.
• Monitor and regulate student use of technology per school policies.
• Issue hall passes and track student movement during study hall periods.
• Communicate student concerns and attendance issues to staff.
• Assist teachers and administrators with clerical or supervisory tasks.
• Participate in school safety drills and implement safety procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records per regulations.
