Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a full-time Research Technician Intermediate to support the Speech Neurophysiology Lab. The role covers coordinating multiple studies in children and adults, using MRI, EEG, brain stimulation and behavioral data collection to investigate stuttering.

Primary duties include day-to-day study coordination and participant engagement. The position involves recruitment, scheduling, data collection, regulatory documentation, and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1 year of direct experience collecting data from participants.
• Comfort interacting with children, parents, and adults.
• Willingness to participate in community outreach activities.
• Ability to follow multi-step protocols with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, enroll, schedule, and follow up with participants.
• Conduct visits and assessments using behavioral, physiological, neuroimaging, and other methods.
• Coordinate communication with participants, families, schools and stakeholders.
• Support community outreach and engagement activities.
• Assist with study coordination and track participant progress.
• Maintain detailed study records, databases and regulatory documentation.
• Perform data entry, verification and quality assurance procedures.
• Prepare study materials and supplies as needed.
• Monitor study progress and support multiple projects.
• Attend weekly team meetings and required trainings.
