Qualifications

• Upholds Moana Nursery's safety policies and procedures.
• Professional floral design experience or portfolio demonstrating ability.
• Experience in garden center, nursery, flower shop, farm or floral studio.
• Working knowledge of flowers, foliage and basic plant care.
• Understanding of color, texture, scale, proportion and composition.
• Fresh-flower processing and conditioning experience.
• Ability to assess product quality and manage perishable inventory.
• Strong customer-service and consultative sales skills.
• Ability to explain care requirements clearly and accurately.
• Willingness to perform physical, repetitive cleaning work.
• Flexibility to move between designing, selling, processing product, and planting containers.
• Availability for full-time retail schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Able to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Design distinctive, farm-inspired arrangements and custom floral pieces.
• Create one-of-a-kind and repeatable designs using recipes.
• Receive, condition and store fresh flowers and foliage.
• Monitor flower quality and cooler conditions.
• Design with seasonal and locally grown materials.
• Complete deliveries, pickups, orders accurately and on time.
• Help manage floral inventory, product rotation and waste.
• Welcome customers and translate occasions into floral products.
• Suggest flowers, plants and container-design services to customers.
• Use POS to complete transactions and support workshops/events.
• Maintain clean, organized studio spaces and assist with inventory counts.
