Job summary

One River School of Art + Design is seeking a part-time Studio Art Teacher for adults and advanced teens in Clark, NJ. You’ll teach weekly art or digital design classes for adults and help students progress in a creative, museum-quality setting.

Responsibilities include implementing the One River Methodology, maintaining studio spaces, and guiding student exhibitions in January and June. Requires BA/BS in art/design and 5+ years of teaching experience; evenings and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years experience teaching visual arts for adults and advanced teens studio classes.
• Digital art skills (Adobe Suite and Procreate knowledge) are a plus.
• Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
• Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Art and / or Digital Design Classes for adults of all levels using a wide variety of media.
• Observe, document and communicate student progress to support growth.
• Contribute to lesson plan development and follow the One River Methodology Curriculum.
• Maintain a clean, organized studio and oversee digital lab spaces.
• Direct student exhibitions in January and June, ensuring on-time completion.
