Job summary

Apple Health is seeking a highly strategic Studies Project Manager to lead human study efforts for health sensors and algorithms. You will bridge internal teams and external partners, driving operational strategy, day-to-day study operations, and data management oversight.

The role requires experience across the human studies lifecycle, regulatory knowledge, and a track record of managing both site-based and virtual studies with hardware/software devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of direct experience in clinical project management or clinical operations.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end study lifecycle, GCP, and domestic/international regulations.
• Proven track record of scoping, evaluating, onboarding and managing global CROs and external vendors.
• Experience running virtual/remote studies with hardware/software devices.
• Experience in budgeting and financial forecasting at project/study level.

Responsibilities

• Architect and enforce end-to-end study strategy, aligning internal teams and external partners to milestones and data quality goals.
• Own project timelines end-to-end and manage study budgets, ensuring scope and spend accountability.
• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, data analysis, legal, business development), drive meetings, and present status to senior management.

We are seeking a highly strategic Studies Project Manager to lead human study efforts in collecting data to support development and validation of new health sensors and algorithms. Acting as a critical bridge between internal cross-functional teams and external partners, you will drive operational strategy, and provide day to day study operations and comprehensive data management oversight.

Description

In this dynamic, high impact role, you will not be confined to a single track. We are looking for a confident strategic leader who can navigate the full spectrum of study execution, from architecting study strategy to driving flawless delivery across internal design teams and external partners. You bring proven experience across the human studies research lifecycle, deep knowledge of domestic and international regulations, and a track record of running both site-based and virtual/remote studies while managing complex budgets.Thriving amid shifting priorities, you toggle seamlessly between granular operational details and executive-level strategy, holding partners strictly accountable to timelines, budgets, and uncompromised data quality. You must navigate severe ambiguity, pushing projects forward when hardware specs, regulatory pathways, or executive mandates are undefined. This role requires you to aggressively drive alignment across engineering, data analysis, legal, and business development, stepping in to course-correct when requirements rapidly evolve.

Responsibilities

• Study Strategy & Execution: Architect and enforce the end-to-end strategy of assigned studies, driving strict alignment across internal engineering teams and external partners to hit unyielding milestones and data quality goals.
• Timeline & Budget Management: Own project timelines end-to-end while developing and managing study budgets, holding teams and partners accountable to scope and spend
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence: Apply adaptable, multi-faceted expertise to align and resolve challenges across diverse teams such as, engineering, data analysis, legal, and business development; drive meetings and decisions, document action items and progress, and deliver clear, compelling presentations to senior management on project status and schedules

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. degree in biomedical engineering or any engineering discipline, or equivalent
• 7+ years of direct experience in clinical project management or clinical operations
• Strong human research background with a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end study lifecycle, GCP, and domestic/international regulations
• Proven track record of scoping, evaluating, onboarding and managing global CROs and diverse external vendors to successfully deliver on data needs
• Experience running virtual and/or remote studies and knowledge on conducting clinical studies with Hardware/Software devices
• Experience in budgeting and financial forecasting at a project/study level
• Expert analytical and negotiation skills, adept at facilitating actions, resolving conflicts, and delivering crisp, effective communication to executive leadership
• Self starter and critical thinker with the ability to work autonomously, establish priorities, and thrive in a highly ambiguous, fast paced environment
• Superb communication skills including effective listening, clear and concise writing, and the ability to articulate complex project updates to executives
• Ability to be onsite; this role is a hybrid, in-person position
• Some travel is required, approximately 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leveraging AI, digital platforms, or advanced analytics in study operations
• Experience with global and/or OUS studies

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
