Job summary

The Grove Cafe at Southcentral KY Community & Technical College is seeking a part-time Student Worker to support cafe operations and serve customers. Applicants must be current SKYCTC students and eligible for federal work-study.

You will assist with cash handling, food preparation, sanitation, and maintaining clean work areas, especially during peak service times, to ensure a positive dining experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Submit FAFSA to SKYCTC
• U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Credential-seeking in a SKYCTC program of study
• Maintains a GPA of 2.0+ and Satisfactory Academic Progress
• Enrollment in 6+ program-applicable credit hours
• Has unmet need for federal work-study
• Consents to state and national pre-employment background checks per Kentucky State Law

Responsibilities

• Delivers excellent customer service to cafe customers and maintains positive attitude
• Assists staff with cash handling, food preparation, and sanitation
• Helps with preparation of baked goods, sandwiches, salads, soups and other foods
• Maintains cleanliness of FOH/BOH workstations and production equipment
• Upholds attendance and punctuality
• Follows safety and hygiene regulations
• Prepares quality finished products at multiple stations while enforcing sanitary practices
• Ensures consistent high quality of food preparation and service
• Assists with operating vending machines per policy and procedures

Job Summary

Part time Student Worker for Cafe Support ( must meet eligibility guidelines for a federal work study position) ***MUST BE A CURRENT SKYCTC STUDENT.

To provide support to the café in any capacity and specifically during peak service times.

Job Duties

• Ensures that all customers have a positive experience within the Café by delivering excellent customer service through good communication, positive attitude, and connecting with customers.
• Helps support employees in any capacity including, but not limited to, cash handling, food preparation and sanitation.
• Shares responsibility for the preparation of all baked goods, sandwiches, salads, soups and other foods within the cafe.
• Maintains cleanliness of the FOH/BOH workstations and all production equipment.
• Maintains proper attendance and punctuality.
• Monitors and adheres to compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
• Prepares quality finished products at a variety of workstations while adhering to and enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen.
• Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
• Shares responsibility for operating vending machines by adhering to policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Submits a completed, current year FAFSA to SKYCTC
• Is a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
• Is credential-seeking in a SKYCTC program of study
• Maintains a GPA of 2.0 or higher and makes Satisfactory Academic Progress
• Maintains enrollment in 6 or more program-applicable credit hours
• Has “unmet need” in the financial aid budget to allow for a federal work-study award
• Consents to state and national pre-employment background checks, per Kentucky State Law
