Texas A&M International University’s Recreational Sports department seeks a Student Worker (Recs- Marketing) to assist with developing and implementing marketing strategies for departmental programs. You will help create messaging, manage social media, and support web content while adhering to university branding guidelines.
The role requires on-campus, face-to-face interaction and offers up to 19 hours per week at $8.00 per hour. Training provided.
Job Description Job Summary Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that support the growth of departmental programs.
Under the supervision of the Associate Director, assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that support the growth of departmental programs, including developing and implementing messaging and timelines for all marketing efforts while ensuring that departmental and University branding guidelines are utilized. Assist with implementation of web technologies to streamline processes to include departmental website and social media sites. Assists in identifying the appropriate social media channels to expand Recreation program awareness and tailors campaigns to the appropriate target audience. Tracks performance of various social media initiatives and develops/implements changes to improve goals and objectives. Perform other related duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining certifications/licenses as terms of employment.
Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates. Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students. Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).
Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions. Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule. Promptly complete all required trainings. Submit time sheet biweekly. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Subject to funding and/or need. Pay of Rate: $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly All positions are security-sensitive.
