Job summary

Versiti Blood Center of Michigan is seeking an entry-level Information Systems Trainee in Grand Rapids. You will perform assigned IS tasks, support network operations, and collaborate with IS staff while balancing school commitments.

The position emphasizes learning, teamwork, and adherence to department standards. You may participate in special projects and contribute to a culture of service and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School graduate currently pursuing a degree in a computer-related field.
• No previous work experience is required, but a variety of computer/PC experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced environment.
• Ability to represent the IS Department in a professional manner.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOPs, safety rules, and manuals.
• Must have completed computer-related coursework.

Responsibilities

• As part of the work experience in Information Systems, the Trainee gains an understanding and assists Information Systems staff in installing, maintaining, upgrading, and decommissioning network hardware and software.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Maintains the customer service standards of the department and Versiti.
• Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers, donors, and colleagues, sharing all necessary information.
• Works effectively with team members, contributing to team efforts.
• Supports Versiti’s mission, vision, and values as well as department goals and objectives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Position Summary

Under the direction of a member of the IS management team, performs assigned entry level IS tasks consistent with the educational course work of either a graduate or undergraduate student working towards a degree in computer-related field.
