Job Description

The Student Worker - Barista creates a memorable experience for customers by providing timely service, quality beverages, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment. Responsibilities include processing transactions on the register/POS, following recipes to prepare coffees and beverages according to specifications, and maintaining the coffee bar while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to food safety policies.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate register/POS accurately and handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Greet and assist customers, anticipating their needs.
• Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
• Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards.
• Count, organize, and balance cash drawer; complete cashier slips and make deposits.
• Follow Aramark’s cash handling policies and procedures.
• Set up and break down coffee bar, stations, or store, including cleaning and sanitizing.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Stock beverage coolers, grab-and-go items, service ware, and condiments.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Experience as a barista preferred.
• Basic math and counting skills required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must follow the required dress code.
• Ability to read and communicate in English and follow recipes.
• Complete Food Handling Certification as required.

This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or PPE may be required.
