The Tree Nut entomology lab looks at how to best manage insect pests in pecan orchards. Current tasks include collecting and processing leaf and insect samples, building and deploying traps in pecan orchards, and conducting field trials (collecting field data from traps or direct observations).
Weekly tasks include:
High School Diploma preferred.
Physical Demands: Driving. The employee must look through a microscope for hours at a time in order to do insect counts. They will work outside in the heat, stand and walk or be on their feet for long periods of time.
