OHSU is seeking a part-time student worker for the O'Roak lab, focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders. The position offers a flexible schedule of 10-20 hours per week, allowing the candidate to gain hands-on experience in molecular biology and cell culture.
Ideal candidates will be enrolled in an undergraduate program and have completed relevant introductory biology and chemistry courses. Responsibilities include mouse genotyping, preparing reagents, and detailed documentation of lab activities.
The O'Roak lab is focused on using genomic approaches to unlock the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental disorders and related disorders, such as autism and intellectual disability. The long-term goal is to develop early interventions and biologically based personal therapies that can dramatically improve the lives of individuals affected with these disorders.
This is a part‑time student worker position within the O’Roak lab, Department of Molecular & Medical Genetics. We anticipate a flexible schedule of 10‑20 hours per week. This person will work closely with other lab personnel on projects related to the molecular and cellular basis of autism. Key duties will include mouse genotyping, human cell culture, preparation of reagents, and basic molecular biology. Laboratory is located on OHSU Marquam Hill Campus.
