Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at City Colleges of Chicago.
  • Knowledge of CCC resources and student services; ability to relate to diverse student backgrounds.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to lift 20–30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance and serve as a role model for students transitioning to college life.
  • Explain CCC systems to students; refer to appropriate college resources.
  • Provide academic, emotional, and social support to students in stress or personal challenges.
  • Assist with goal setting and track progress; advocate for assigned students as needed.
  • Attend training; refer to licensed professionals when necessary.
  • Lead or participate in outreach events on mental health and wellness topics.
  • Unload pantry orders, stock pantry daily, maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Greet patrons and complete necessary documentation; record interactions and submit reports.
