Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) invites a qualified college student to join the EAST team as a Student Assistant to support business application development. You will learn on the job with guidance from professional software engineers and contribute to internal applications.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, testing, and collaboration with engineers, writers, and technicians to ensure user-focused solutions and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be a Utah State University student majoring in computer science, MIS, or a related field.
• Must have at least one year of school remaining.
• Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other U.S. person.
• Ability to work independently with mentoring and as part of a collaborative team.
• Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with program team members, technical writers, and engineering technicians as required.
• Writes clean, consistent, well-documented code.
• Implements, tests, and maintains code for internal customers.
• Ensures that code meets end user requirements.
• Collaborates with other developers to ensure that new development projects integrate with existing applications and systems.
• Provides operational support for existing systems.
