Job summary

Bridgewater State University seeks a Student Videographer to join the Office of Social Media and Digital Content. You will shoot footage at events, edit videos, record audio, and contribute to campaigns across BSU channels.

Work includes on-site production assistance, crafting thumbnails, archiving assets, and pitching ideas to align with the BSU brand. Some night/weekend work may be required with advance notice.

Qualifications

• Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for at least six credits for Fall 2026.
• All equipment and software needed for this role are provided by the university.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality short-form videos.
• Familiarity with editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalents.
• Creative mind to pitch content aligning with BSU brand.

Position Information

Title Student Videographer

Position Description

The Student Videographer will serve as one of the University’s official content creators for the flagship social media channels and the BSU website, supporting campus-wide marketing and communications campaigns.

As a member of a talented team of student employees, the Student Videographer will shoot footage at events, edit videos and other creative content, record audio, pitch creative ideas, create animated text, help maintain the video asset library, design video thumbnails, serve as on-site production assistants to staff videographers, and further develop camera and editing skills while working for BSU’s Office of Social Media and Digital Content within the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications.

Some night and weekend work will be required, with advance notice, based on divisional needs.

While positional onboarding and continual guidance by staff will be provided, the Student Videographer will be expected to join the team already possessing a skill set that will allow for immediate contribution in a fast-paced, flexible work environment.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.

All equipment, computers and software for this role can be provided by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications.

Preferred Qualifications

• a demonstrated ability and experience creating high-quality short-form videos
• familiarity with editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent programs
• creative mind to pitch new ideas for content that aligns with BSU brand
• experience using professional-level cameras (such as Canon, Nikon, or Sony) and/or high-level vlogging or action cameras (such as DJI Osmo Pocket, GoPro, DJI Osmo Action, etc.)
• video file organizational skills and attention to detail
• knowledge of social media video trends

Physical Demands

The ability to carry equipment while and walking/traveling around campus.
