Job summary

North America Central School Bus is seeking a driver to safely transport students in a van on a regular route. A CDL is not required, and applicants should be able to work early morning hours and follow route sheets with attention to safety and student welfare.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading assistance, daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining professional conduct while communicating with school staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver's license and other permits as required. No CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Drives a regular route, is a regular, spare or charter driver. Safe operation of a van.
• Read and understand street signs, route sheets and maps.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van, including child checks.
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
• Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
• Attend all safety and training meetings.
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the van, including exiting from the emergency door.
• Cleans the insides of the van and clean exterior windows.
• Other specialized functions as required by contract.
• Responsible for student management.
