Assisted Student Transportation in Wichita is seeking a Student Transportation Operations Manager to lead pupil transportation services for the local school district, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will direct daily operations, supervise staff, and coordinate with districts to meet expectations.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years in transportation, fleet management, or logistics, with solid Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in student transportation, fleet management, logistics, or a related operational field.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, scheduling, dispatch, and fleet maintenance practices.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transportation operations, including scheduling, dispatch, payroll, customer service, and staff supervision to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
  • Serve as liaison between the company, school districts, and community partners, resolving employee and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate office personnel and drivers; maintain accurate employee records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and training requirements; provide coaching, corrective action, and performance feedback as needed.
  • Manage safety and risk processes, including accident response, incident investigations, video review, and insurance claims coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards through ongoing training, orientations, and in-service programs.
  • Oversee fleet operations, including preventative maintenance scheduling, vehicle inspections, vendor coordination, and invoice approval.
  • Maintain facility and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and professional operating environment.
