Job summary

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing the safe and efficient transportation of students from Nashua public and approved private schools from preschool through grade 12. This is a full‑time, year‑round role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer at the Nashua School District.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience related to transportation, business, education, or technology.
• Experience with transportation software preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• Customer service focus and results-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe, efficient district bus routes and stops.
• Respond to parent concerns about transportation and changes to stops or routes.
• Assist in managing transportation contracts and hold providers accountable.
• Maintain transportation software and data to generate efficient routes and accurate student information.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Collaborate with special education staff and parents for special transportation arrangements.
• Coordinate district field trips and athletic trips.
• Review and approve invoices from the transportation provider; bill Medicaid and related programs.
• Handle emergencies and communicate details to leadership.
