Job summary

American Leadership Academy-Blythewood is accepting applications for the Activity School Bus Driver position for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves safely transporting students to and from school and activities, maintaining buses, and complying with all safety and district policies.

Candidates must hold a valid DMV Operator's license and a CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, pass a background check, and be able to travel between district sites.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes and schedules.
• Transports students and staff for school events and trips.
• Inspects bus daily for safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans, refuels and maintains bus readiness as needed.
• Ensures communication devices are functional before each trip.
• Reports any mechanical issues or incidents promptly.
• Arranges routine maintenance and coordinates with service facilities.
• Maintains order and discipline per ALA policies during transport.
• Monitors route timing and ensures all students disembark safely.
• Evacuates students during emergencies following procedures.
• Attends trainings and takes part in professional development.
