Job summary

Trimble County Schools is seeking a dependable Transportation Driver to provide daily transportation services for students attending the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) and/or Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD). This position requires the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school while maintaining a positive, supportive, and professional environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Kentucky driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Criminal background check completed.
• Ability to transport students and meet state requirements for transporting students.
• Experience with students with special needs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Transport students between Trimble County and the Kentucky School for the Blind and/or Kentucky School for the Deaf according to schedules.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure compliance with district transportation policies, Kentucky regulations, and traffic laws.
• Maintain student supervision and safety during transport.
• Assist students as needed with entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records, including mileage and inspection reports.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and administrators regarding transportation matters.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good condition.
• Attend required training and meetings as assigned.
