Job summary

Hillside seeks a Driver to transport active, eligible students to after‑school programs and partner work sites, ensuring safe, timely service. You will maintain schedules, monitor safety, and keep vehicles clean and professional, while engaging positively with youth and coordinating with program staff.

Requirements include a valid NYS driver's license, the ability to drive 7 or 12‑passenger vans, a high school diploma or GED, and prior experience engaging with students in community settings.

Qualifications

• GPS navigation skills required to plan safe routes.
• Ability to maintain passenger safety and behavior.
• Clear communication with youth, program staff, and management.
• Experience engaging with students in community settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule and accurate records of transportation.
• Ensure passenger safety including restraints and behavior.
• Keep vehicle clean and professional appearance.
• Communicate issues regarding vehicle or youth with management promptly.
• Engage with youth to provide a positive environment.
• Participate in Emergency Plan Committee meetings and other duties as assigned.
