The role requires 18+ years of age, English fluency, and the ability to manage student behavior. Pre‑service and in‑service training are part of the onboarding process, with computer skills required for daily reporting.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic comprehension and fluency in English.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must show sensitivity to the needs and feelings of individuals requiring special care.
• Ability to control student behavior to the extent necessary for the driver to safely perform the driving assignment.
• Preservice training: forty (40) hours (20 classroom, 8 hands-on) per Broward curriculum or equivalent.
• Upon reappointment: at least eight (8) hours of in-service training within the preceding 12 months.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• To provide care and assistance to exceptional students requiring bus transportation and to maintain acceptable deportment of student passengers so the driver may operate the bus.
