The MetroHealth System in Cleveland is seeking a part-time laboratory assistant under direct supervision to perform specimen processing and related technical tasks.
You must be enrolled in a NAACLS-accredited MT/MLT/HT program and demonstrate strong communication skills. Schedule includes 4p–8p weekdays with some weekend shifts; 8 hours per pay period. Duties require lifting up to 25 pounds and routine lab safety practices.

Required: Currently enrolled in a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR Histotechnology (HT) program. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred: None Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
