Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a Student Teaching Lab assistant to perform daily cleaning of the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine teaching facilities, kennels and equipment. You will handle small animals with care and assist with transportation as needed, under supervision on campus.

The role requires current enrollment in an eligible program and adherence to OSU academic standards. Working hours are mornings on Tue–Fri with potential extension if funds permit.

Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university.
  • Must meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible.
  • Minimum enrollment hours per term vary by student level as described in OSU guidelines.

The Student Teaching Lab assistant provides continuous daily cleaning of the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine (CCVM) Student Teaching Lab facilities, individual patient kennels, maintenance of equipment, laundry, and animal transportation. Provide care, restraint and handling of small animals (cats and dogs) within a veterinary teaching college.

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
  • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
  • *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Working Conditions/Schedule:

Must be available to work during the hours of 7:30am-11:30am, Tuesday- Friday. If funding permits, employment may be extended through the upcoming school year.
