Job Summary

Student teaching assistants wanted for CHEM 1211R new chemistry recitation section.

Responsibilities

This student will work with students currently enrolled in CHEM 1211 to help them through the course. They will run a 50 minute recitation section that will include going over problems from assigned homework, answering students’ questions, and administering quizzes. The student assistants will be required to spend 2.5 hours outside of this time in preparation meeting with the instructor of the course, OR attending the lecture classes every day the class is scheduled (also a 2.5 hour commitment).

Required Qualifications

:Any student of any major who successfully completed CHEM 1211 with a B or better and can make the time commitment regularly. The student should also have good communication skills and the ability to ask questions when needed. The application process will require an interview with the Instructor.

Other Information

The student assistant will be paid $15/hour for 4.5 hours of work per week, which will include, in addition to the 1 contact hour and the 2.5 hours of preparation, one hour of preparation and record keeping on the student’s own time.
