Grain Valley Schools is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Student Teachers for the 26/27 Spring semester, offering a supportive environment to complete required clinical practice with mentorship.

Participants will be paired with experienced teachers, actively engage in classroom duties, and meet university requirements for a realistic entry into the teaching career.

Qualifications

• Be actively enrolled in a state-approved Missouri educator preparation program (or an approved program in a reciprocal state).
• Have met all university and program requirements to begin the student teaching/clinical practice semester.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a passion for education, and a commitment to their own ongoing professional development.
• Possess basic knowledge of child development and instructional strategies appropriate for the grade level.

• Plan and deliver instruction that aligns with district goals, mission, and curriculum benchmarks.
• Practice creating a positive, inclusive, and effective classroom environment appropriate to the students' maturity level and interests.
• Observe and learn effective classroom management and instructional strategies from their mentor teacher.
• Develop supportive and professional relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
• Engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional growth under the guidance of a mentor teacher and university supervisor.
